Shaw, Mel (1914-2012) Shaw was hired by Disney in 1937, and worked on story for Fantasia, Bambi, and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. After leaving the Studio for many years, he returned in the mid-1970s to work on story for The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound, The Great Mouse Detective, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. He was named a Disney Legend in 2004.
