Mexico Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot; opened October 1, 1982. Inspired by an Aztec pyramid, the central part of the pavilion beckons guests inside to see a display on Mexican history and culture. Farther on is the Plaza de los Amigos, where colorful stalls are situated under a simulated nighttime sky, flanked by other shops. The San Angel Inn, also there, offers guests tempting and authentic Mexican fare. To one side, guests could board a boat for El Río del Tiempo, a tuneful journey celebrating Mexican life. Outside, beside the lagoon, guests can partake of counter service fare in the Cantina de San Angel. El Río del Tiempo was replaced by Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros in 2007.
