A single woman living in Los Angeles and her kindhearted but clumsy handling of people and matters that come careening into her life. Stars Ellen DeGeneres (Ellen Morgan), Joely Fisher (Paige Clark), David Anthony Higgins (Joe Farrell), Arye Gross (Adam Green). Joining the regular cast in the Fall of 1995 were Clea Lewis (Audrey) and Jeremy Piven (Spence). The show made headlines and stirred up controversy when the lead character, Ellen Morgan, came out as a lesbian on April 30, 1997, after actress Ellen DeGeneres had earlier done the same.
