Adventures of Huck Finn, The (film) A carefree boy who hates his stifled existence under adoption to the Widow Douglas and Miss Watson fakes his own murder and sets off down the Mississippi with a runaway slave, Jim, as a companion. Jim dreams of travelling down river to Cairo, Illinois, to buy his wife and children out of bondage. Along the way, Huck and Jim escape a deadly feud between two neighboring families and meet up with two crafty con men, the King and the Duke. When these two attempt to steal the family fortune of the wealthy Wilks family, Huck cannot stand for it, and he tries to destroy their plot.
