Winebaum, Jake He started Family PC magazine in a joint venture deal with Disney in 1993. In 1995, he was named president of Disney Online, and in 1997 his duties were expanded as president of Buena Vista Internet Services. In 1999, as chairman of Buena Vista Internet Group, he left to form eCompanies, an Internet start-up and development company in which Disney and EarthLink are founding investors.
