Tytle, Harry

Tytle, Harry (1909-2004) He joined Disney in 1936 in the Animation Department where he served as an assistant director. Tytle moved up through the ranks to production manager in 1944, shorts manager in 1946, cartoon production manager in 1955, and production coordinator in 1963. In the 1970s, he became a producer of such films as Chandar, the Black Leopard of Ceylon; Salty, the Hijacked Harbor Seal; The Little Shepherd Dog of Catalina; Barry of the Great St. Bernard; and The Proud Bird from Shanghai. For a number of years, he served as the Disney representative in Europe for the projects that were being filmed there. In 1998 he wrote his autobiography entitled One of Walt’s Boys.
