Mooncussers, The (television) Two-part television show; aired on December 2 and 9, 1962. Directed by James Neilson. Based on Iris Vinton’s book, Flying Ebony. Episode titles are Graveyard of Ships and Wake of Disaster. Pirates prey on unsuspecting ships in the 1840s off Long Island, luring them to run aground, but the son of a shipowner and the locals try to outwit them. Stars Oscar Homolka, Kevin Corcoran, Robert Emhardt, Joan Freeman, Erin O’Brien-Moore, Dub Taylor. It won an Emmy for art direction.
