Grant, Joe (1908-2005) Character designer and storyman; at Disney from 1933 to 1949. He headed the character model department in the 1940s and was responsible for okaying all model sheets. He worked on such classics as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Saludos Amigos, Make Mine Music, and Alice in Wonderland. He returned decades later to receive credit for visual development on Beauty and the Beast and was a story advisor on Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Fantasia/2000, Treasure Planet, and Home on the Range. He was named a Disney Legend in 1992.
