Golden Girls, The (television) Television series on NBC; aired from September 14, 1985 until September 12, 1992. Three aging, active, and independent women share a house in Miami with the feisty mother of one of them, supporting each other but also occasionally getting on each others’ nerves. Stars Rue McClanahan (Blanche Devereaux), Betty White (Rose Nyland), Bea Arthur (Dorothy Zbornak), and Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo). The cast and crew won 11 Emmy Awards from 1986 to 1992. A spinoff show was called The Golden Palace. A Spanish-language reversioned series entitled Los Años Dorados for Latin America was announced in September 2009 with 45 30-minute episodes beginning taping in Caracas, Venezuela. Stars will be Rebecca Jones, Susana Alexander, Kristina Lilley, and Lili Rentería.
