Pandora—The World of Avatar Immersive themed area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom; opened on May 27, 2017, replacing Camp Minnie-Mickey. Guests are eco-tourists, invited by Alpha Centauri Expeditions to explore the Valley of Mo’ara on Pandora, a moon 4.4 lightyears from Earth. Two attractions—Na’vi River Journey and Avatar Flight of Passage—dining at Satu’li Canteen, the Pongu Pongu drink stand, shopping at Windtraders, vistas of floating mountains, and special entertainment all help connect visitors to the natural world. In 2018, Time Magazine recognized Pandora – The World of Avatar as one of 100 top destinations on its list of the “world’s greatest places.”
