See More of Carol Danvers’ Intriguing Life in New Captain Marvel Trailer
Fans around the world—including us here at D23—have been waiting (not so) patiently for Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel to rocket into theaters this spring… it’s when we’ll officially meet Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), and see how she transforms into the incredible Super Hero we know her to be. To that end, we were gifted this week with a second—and definitely more detailed than before—trailer for the film; check it out, above.
Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows Carol as she transforms into one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. When a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
Also starring Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law—and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck—Captain Marvel premieres in U.S. theaters March 8.

New Toy Story Hotel Coming to Tokyo Disney Resort
Ever wanted to stay smack in the middle of “infinity and beyond”? You’ll soon be able to at the Tokyo Disney Resort! Our good pals over at the Disney Parks Blog recently shared that the resort will soon feature a family-friendly hotel based on the adorable world of Disney·Pixar’s Toy Story films.
From the hotel exterior to the spacious gardens, guests will enjoy a world where everything looks like it’s made of toys. The rooms are inspired by Andy’s bedroom—including Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and all their friends—with colorful furniture and other immersive features inspired by the world of Toy Story. The hotel will also include spectacular dining and shopping opportunities.
Longtime readers know this announcement is right on par with some major upcoming development plans already revealed for both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. The good news? You won’t have wait too terribly long before you can stay with Woody and Buzz; the approximately 600-room hotel is slated to open in the resort’s fiscal year 2021.
But That’s Not All: Tokyo Disneyland Offers Sneak Peek at New Attraction
We’ve got more scoop from Japan: a brand-new (and seriously amazing) look behind the scenes of Tokyo Disneyland’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast attraction! See the video, and read more about what’s to come from those aforementioned development plans (set to start dazzling guests in spring 2020), right here.

Celebrate Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Disneyland Resort Like Never Before
Everyone—and we mean everyone—around the worlds of Disney celebrated Mickey Mouse’s 90th last month; there were TV specials, art exhibits, the #ShareYourEars campaign in support of Make-A-Wish, and so much more. But that doesn’t mean the festivities surrounding Mickey’s (and Minnie’s!) 90 years of magic are now over… far from it!
Case in point: Disneyland Resort’s upcoming Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration. Launching next month, Get Your Ears On will offer up exciting new ways to celebrate Mickey and Minnie, with fresh entertainment and décor around Disneyland park, limited-time food and beverage offerings, and swell new merchandise available throughout the resort. Mickey’s Mix Magic will kick things off in a big way beginning January 18; this new, high-energy projection extravaganza will create a family-fun dance party throughout the park—with “DJ” Mickey himself spinning the new celebration song, “It’s a Good Time,” along with fun new takes on favorite Disney songs. State-of-the-art projections, lighting, and lasers will transform Main Street, U.S.A., the water screens of the Rivers of America, and the façade of it’s a small world into a dazzling display of sights and sounds—all to celebrate Mickey! And on select nights, Mickey’s Mix Magic will take to the skies when the show is enhanced with the addition of fireworks. Mickey’s Mix Magic debuts on January 18.
Plus, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade makes its triumphant return to Disneyland on January 25, with a new opening inspired by those nostalgic Mickey pull toys. And in honor of Valentine’s Day, from January 22 through February 15, guests can take part in Minnie’s Valentine Surprise, a special scavenger hunt experience that includes a search for hidden valentines that Minnie’s left for Mickey around Disneyland park.
So mark those calendars and get ready to celebrate Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland Resort throughout 2019. “Oh boy!”

Now Playing: New Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures Shorts
If you’ve got some younger Padawans at home—or perhaps some kids who aren’t yet familiar with the world of Star Wars—here’s some fantastic news: A whole new series of animated shorts just debuted, and they’re great for the whole family.
The product of a collaboration between Titmouse Animation and Lucasfilm, these Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures shorts have a vibrant, modern look that falls somewhere between Japanese “manga”-style animation and a Star Wars Little Golden Book come to life. Each short looks into one of the iconic Star Wars characters and how they found their place in the saga.
See how “The Journey Begins” with the first Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures installment, above—and make sure to check out the other shorts on StarWarsKids.com and at the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel. Bonus: Some of them include super-cool “fun facts” courtesy of the filmmakers themselves!
