Liberators, The (television) Two-hour television movie; aired on February 8, 1987. Directed by Kenneth Johnson. In the years prior to the Civil War, a slave convinces a young man to help him escape to Canada, so he poses as the boy’s slave to do so. They meet other escaping slaves and help them get to the Underground Railway in Ohio, where they are helped by a Quaker. Their success convinces them to continue helping slaves escape from bondage.
