Houston, Texas Disney constructed a WEDWay PeopleMover at the Houston Intercontinental Airport. It opened on August 17, 1981, and was the only transportation system actually sold by Disney’s Community Transportation Services division. The technology for the PeopleMover and monorails was later sold to a Canadian company, Bombardier, Inc. The visitor center at the Johnson Space Center, which opened in 1972, was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering.
