Benji the Hunted (film) Benji, the dog, becomes lost in the mountains after a fishing accident and is forced to become involved with animals that are normally a dog’s mortal enemies, including a Kodiak bear, a black timber wolf, and a number of cougars. He aids some orphaned cougar cubs while trying to find his way back to civilization. Initial release in Dallas on June 5, 1987; general release on June 19, 1987. Directed by Joe Camp.
