From the moment we first watched the shy and clumsy Mia Thermopolis (Anne Hathaway) discover her connection to the Genovian throne in The Princess Diaries (2001), we knew she was a real-life princess we could all identify with—complete with pore strip, retainer, and out-of-control hair. (All right, fans, we know “Catch a Falling Star” is already starting to play in your head…)
But a true princess story wouldn’t be complete with crowns. And the Walt Disney Archives carefully preserves an incredible collection of exquisite crowns from The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004). In honor of the 15th anniversary of the hit film series, we present some of our favorite headpieces worn by your favorite stars:
Princess Mia’s silver tiara, complete with white and yellow pear-shaped rhinestones, worn by Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
