Tigger

Year of the Tiger: 5 Favorite Striped Disney Pals

By Victoria Hunt

Disney has a long history of memorable animal characters gracing our screens—from Pascal the Chameleon in Tangled and Dug in Up to Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio and everyone in between. But since today is Lunar New Year, and it’s ringing in the Year of the Tiger, that got us reminiscing about Disney-related, not-so-ferocious felines.

So to celebrate the spring festival, we’ve compiled a list of a few of our favorite Disney tigers! Take a look and see if you roar with agreement…

Tigger

Tigger (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, 1977)
Between his bouncy tail and his infectious positivity, Tigger has stolen our hearts for almost 30 years.

Rajah

Rajah (Aladdin, 1992)
Rajah may be a little rough around the edges, but it’s only because of his fierce loyalty and love for his best friend, Jasmine.

Shere Khan

Shere Khan (The Jungle Book, 1967)
Shere Khan isn’t the cuddliest tiger of the bunch, yet we love him because he’s confident and suave!

Tillie Tiger

Tillie Tiger (Elmer Elephant, 1936)
In this Silly Symphony classic, Tillie is not only the cutest little “kitty,” but also one of the first tigers featured in a Disney film.

Bonus Cub:

Chandu

Chandu (Tokyo Disney Resort)
Chandu—though not be a character in a Disney movie—is an adorably important part of Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage at Tokyo DisneySea… so we just had to include him!
