Monster's Inc.

Monsters Inc. Premieres

On this day in 2001, Pixar and Disney left audiences screaming with laughter with the release of Monsters, Inc. In 2002, the film became the second highest-grossing animated film of all time. Monsters, Inc. was also a technological breakthrough in the depiction of fur and hair. Faux llama and gorilla fur were all studied for Sulley before finalizing the 2,320,413 hairs that appear on the main monster. With its monstrous success, the film inspired many theme park experiences around the world. In Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, guests are invited to the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, which has been transformed into a comedy club hosted by Mike Wazowski. At Disney’s California Adventure, you can hop in a cab and follow Mike and Sulley as they attempt to return Boo to her bedroom in Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! The newest scare package debuted in Tokyo Disneyland in Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek, where you can grab a flashlight to entertain Boo in a game of flashlight tag.
