Carol & Co. Debuts on NBC TV

More than a decade after Carol Burnett’s classic television series took its final bow, Carol returned with new company in the Disney series, Carol & Co. Similar to her hour-long sketch series, Carol & Co. would feature a new half-hour sketch each week. Gone were the previous ensemble of Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, and Disney Legend Tim Conway, and a brand-new ensemble was introduced, including Meagen Fay, Terry Kiser, Richard Kind, Anita Barone, Peter Krause, and Jeremy Piven. The show proved to be exciting for employees, especially during a Carol & Co. day on the studio lot to celebrate the new show, complete with cake, videos of the show playing on monitors and the chance to meet the cast and comedy legend herself. The new ensemble seemed to enjoy being part of the Disney family, which was evident during the studio’s family Christmas party, in which studio employees are allowed to work at Disneyland for a few hours for fun. The cast served up hot dogs and drinks to employee-guests while Richard Kind stood outside barking, “Get your hot dogs here!”
