Behind the Scenes of Disney Animation’s Strange World

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ newest feature Strange World may be set in a fantastical landscape that defies expectation, but at its core it’s a story about family and all the connection and conflict that entails.

Seeking Adventure at the World Premiere of Strange World

Ironically, nothing strange was in the air at the world premiere of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Strange World.

An early illustration from production designer Mehrdad Isvandi shows the character of Searcher Clade and his dog Legend in the “Windy Jungle” of Strange World. They have just crash landed, and their downed green vessel is seen in the foreground. They lie on a magenta grassy knoll with patches of orange plant forms. In the background are other strange plants that look like toad stools; the environment is largely magenta, with splashes of orange, yellow, and brown under a defuse yellow lighting.
