Anne Frank (television) Four-hour television mini-series, airing on ABC on May 20-21, 2001. Based on Melissa Müller’s book, Anne Frank: A Biography. Anne Frank, a Jew living in Amsterdam during World War II, goes into hiding with her family to escape the Nazis. This mini-series encompasses her idyllic childhood before the war, her adolescence in Amsterdam, and her last months in captivity. Anne’s diary, which she left behind, presents a moving narrative of Jews during the Holocaust. Produced by Milk and Honey Productions, in association with Dorothy Pictures, Inc., for Touchstone Television. Directed by Robert Dornhelm. Stars Ben Kingsley (Otto Frank), Brenda Blethyn (Auguste Van Pels), Hannah Taylor Gordon (Anne Frank). Released on video in 2001.
