If you caught yourself admiring the beautiful Wakandan fashions while watching Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, you weren’t the only one. The costume design from the film has inspired many a Super Hero fan to show off their Wakandan pride, not just in the movie theaters, but on the runway as well.
For New York Fashion Week, Disney hosted Black Panther “Welcome to Wakanda”—a celebration of fashion inspired by the film’s gorgeous costume design.
Samira Ibrahim, Communications Manager, Fashion from Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media, shares the inspired, one-of-a-kind looks created by leading designers before we see them on the runway at the immersive, Wakanda-inspired New York Fashion Week party.
To keep the night in the Super Hero spirit, the one-of-a-kind looks were auctioned off via CharityBuzz.com in support of the humanitarian organization, Save the Children.
