Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is back, as part of the Walt Disney Signature Collection Edition of Bambi, coming to Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on May 23 and on DVD, Blu-Ray™, and On-Demand on June 6.
As a special bonus feature, fans can enjoy the newly restored Oswald short Africa Before Dark, featuring the antics of Mickey Mouse’s famous predecessor. This restoration was sourced from a 35mm nitrate print found at the Austrian Film Museum (AFM) and identified by curator Oliver Hanley. Any 35mm nitrate material on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit shorts is very rare and is usually pulled from the original negative, which is why this print-based restoration looks as good as it does.
