In celebration of Lunar New Year, Shanghai Disney Resort and Shentong Group are celebrating the spring festival by introducing four new themed trains on the Shanghai Metro.
Greet the New Year and a New Disney Day
Customized both inside and out with decorations blending Chinese Lunar New Year customs with classic Disney elements, these special themed trains will offer guests a colorful beginning and end to their visits to Shanghai Disney Resort.
Exciting Exteriors
The trains’ red exteriors are wrapped with images of Disney characters dressed in traditional Chinese attire sending New Year greetings to the passengers.
Inspirational Interiors
Train interiors are decorated from top to bottom with Disney creativity presented in every detail.
When You Wish Upon a Ceiling
Ceilings are adorned with New Year wishes, while the beloved Disney characters greet guests throughout. Disney elements seamlessly integrate with traditional Chinese design, as illustrated by the Mickey head-shaped symbols of luck around the Enchanted Storybook Castle on each of the train’s doors.
A Decorated History
This is one of a series of decorated metro trains debuted by Shanghai Disney Resort and Shentong Group, following themed trains inspired by the magical Christmas season and the Mandarin production of The Lion King at Disneytown.
