By Cassandra Pinkney

Disneyland Resort is getting some exciting new updates! From new details on previously announced attractions to all-new experiences, these new additions to the resort will delight guests of all ages…

Here are some can’t-miss updates about what to expect soon, across the resort:

Avatar Experience

The Hollywood Backlot area of Disney California Adventure is set to get a makeover when the lush world of Pandora from Avatar (pictured above) arrives to the park. The Hollywood Backlot will still be waiting for all movie stars in the making who are ready for their closeups—just in a slightly different capacity. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026 to make room for this new Avatar experience.

This new expansion is still in early stages of development, so stay tuned for additional details about this exciting new addition.

The archway is decorated with marigold flowers and colorful papel picado. Families are seen walking through the archway and talking with Miguel, the main character of the film Coco.

Brand-New Coco Attraction

We’ve just received more details on the highly anticipated Coco attraction coming to Disney California Adventure. Based on Pixar Animation Studios’ beloved film, this attraction will be built in an area near Paradise Garden Park and Pixar Pier that is currently backstage—with construction set to begin this fall. And with Coco 2 slated for a 2029 theatrical release, there’s even more Coco fun to look forward to!

New Parking Structure and Transportation Hub

To prepare for all the new and exciting attractions coming to Disneyland Resort—including the two already announced attractions coming to Avengers Campus—a brand-new parking structure and transportation hub will be added to the resort area. Providing guests with approximately 6,000 additional parking spots, the structure will also offer areas for rideshare and shuttle pick-ups and drop-offs, and include dedicated access for traffic from Disney Way. A pedestrian bridge from this new parking structure into the esplanade area will give guests an all-new arrival experience—and provide convenient public access to and from Harbor Boulevard. Construction for this new transportation offering is slated to begin in fall of 2026.
