The creative minds behind the widely popular life-sim adventure game, Disney Dreamlight Valley came together at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event for the first time to celebrate a world filled with Disney magic, rich stories, and beloved Disney and Pixar characters.
Fans got a behind-the-scenes look at Disney Dreamlight Valley with moderator Courtney Shannon-Caines, community manager at Gameloft—who was joined on stage by Alexis McMullen, producer III on the Disney & Pixar Games team along with Gameloft’s Joshua Labelle, creative director, and Riley Wignall, lead narrative designer.
The team reflected on the success of Disney Dreamlight Valley and their creative approach to incorporating Disney and Pixar stories into the game, which includes the recently released Winnie the Pooh-inspired Honeyglow Woods Adventure Pack and Pixel Perfect update inspired by Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph.
The Disney Dreamlight Valley panelists also gave fans an exclusive first look at what's to come throughout the rest of the year including:
- A Hannah Montana & Lizzie McGuire collection debuting August 19
- A brand-new Premium Shop collection inspired by Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire releases in Disney Dreamlight Valley starting on August 19—giving players the chance to style their avatars in a few superstar outfits.
- A frightfully fun Halloween takeover featuring Oogie Boogie is coming
- Oogie Boogie finally makes his way to Disney Dreamlight Valley as a new villager after players partake in a brand-new Halloween event.
- The sweetest gift for Stitch this Holiday season is his best friend Lilo
- The final free update of the year will allow players to finally experience Lilo’s long-awaited reunion with Stitch during the holidays.
To close out the panel, there was one last surprise for fans—an exclusive first look at Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea, the game’s fourth expansion pack. The teaser trailer offered a preview of the exciting adventure and sneak peek at a new character awaiting players later this year, which you can see here.
