“Step right up and come on in, here’s where the fun begins,” were the opening lyrics for The Disney Afternoon, the two-hour cartoon package of Disney animated television series that ran from 1990 until 1997. Throughout its run, there were three ducky cartoons at various times. One of the series featured during the first year of The Disney Afternoon was DuckTales, starring Scrooge McDuck and Donald’s nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. On this day in 1996, Quack Pack debuted, continuing the quack craze for the final year of The Disney Afternoon. This new series featured Donald Duck and his nephews who had noticeably feathered out into rebellious teens. Throughout the run of The Disney Afternoon, there were a total of four duck-themed series on the bill, DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, Quack Pack, and Mighty Ducks.
