A: The Best Doggoned Dog in the World was a 1957 television show about man’s special relationship with dogs, and included scenes from Old Yeller (released a month later). However, when the TV show was rerun in 1961, the Old Yeller footage was replaced with footage from 101 Dalmatians to help promote the release of that motion picture.

A: The song, “Marceline,” actually came from the Disney television show Walt Disney—One Man’s Dream (1981). It was written by Ken and Mitzie Welch, with the composers nominated for an Emmy® Award for their song. I am not aware of any CD or album releases.

A: Walt’s lead-in for the 1963 airing contains some elements from the 1958 one, such as Tinker Bell reducing Walt to “cricket size,” but in 1963 he talks about The Sword in the Stone and the upcoming Mary Poppins.

A: In the script when they mentioned the “third eye,” the characters Mr. Davis, Corwin, and Ahri plastered gag fake eyes to their foreheads. They said that the Lucifer Fall Festival was the only carnival with a “super duper supernatural third eye.”
