Ghost of Cypress Swamp, The (television) Two-hour television movie; aired on March 13, 1977. Directed by Vincent McEveety. A teen, Lonny Bascombe, and his dad hunt a black panther that has been terrorizing local farms, but it eludes them. Lonny is captured by and then befriends an escaped fugitive living in the swamp, as both help each other survive. The boy promises to keep the hermit’s secret, and finally is able to kill the marauding panther.
