On this day in 1934, Fifi was kidnapped… or dognapped. In the cartoon short The Dognapper, Minnie Mouse’s prized Pekinese pooch, Fifi, turns up missing and the prime suspect is that pitiful Peg Leg Pete. Police officers Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck attentively write down the description of the suspect’s car: “Four wheels, two headlights, driver in front seat.” To cut to the chase, and quite a chase ensued, Mickey and Donald foil Pete’s evil plot and rescue Fifi.
