In more Disney+ news for the jaunty month of June, Disney and Pixar’s Hoppers is now officially available on the streaming service!
In the hit animated film, animal lover Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) seizes an opportunity to use a new technology to "hop" her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. As she uncovers mysteries in the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined, Mabel befriends charismatic beaver King George (voiced by Bobby Moynihan), and must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major, imminent, human threat: smooth-talking local mayor Jerry Generazzo (voiced by Jon Hamm). Directed by Daniel Chong and written by Jesse Andrews, Hoppers also features the voices of Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, and Meryl Streep.
To celebrate, Disney+ users can now choose from three adorable new Hoppers-themed avatars: Mabel, King George, and fan-favorite Tom Lizzard!
But that’s not all: Three all-new episodes of The Simpsons are set to stream exclusively on Disney+ globally this summer, following the series’ recent landmark 800th episode milestone. The episodes include double-episode “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition” streaming June 17, and full-length episodes “Simpsley” streaming July 3, and “Yellow Mirror” streaming August 26.
In “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition,” Homer and Marge’s fun couples’ date night goes off the rails when Marge learns Homer left the kids unsupervised with only the doorbell camera as a babysitter. Frustrated with her imperfect husband, a tipsy Marge stirs up a trilogy of fantasies of a different Homer. The special guest stars Betty Gilpin, with musical guests Laufey and Tegan and Sara.
In July’s episode, “Simpsley,” penniless con-artist Marge Bouvier is sent to Italy to convince wealthy sap Seymour Skinner to come home, but she’s tempted by the trappings of his affluent lifestyle. There’s a big fat fly in the ointment, however: Skinner’s clingy, dim-witted mooch of a houseguest, Homer Simpsley. Lies, lust, and Italian lira abound in this Disney+ exclusive Simpsons noir.
Finally, in August, “Yellow Mirror” follows as a defective lamp reveals a heartbreaking truth about what Homer believes is reality, and an AI-powered tablet befriends and controls Maggie. The Simpsons struggle to find the light through two dark tales of the curious and bizarre in this Disney+ exclusive.
