The event was held on October 26, 2024, at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel—an iconic hotel with interiors that once served as inspiration for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. D23 Members enjoyed a night of treats, not tricks as the hotel transformed three floors into dynamic spaces filled with surprises and delights at every turn, featuring six enchanting Disney-themed rooms.
Upon arrival, guests were given credentials shaped like room keys, celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, along with a whimsical treat bag inspired by Wizards Beyond Waverly Place for their trick-or-treating adventure. The entrance path was adorned with banners of beloved Disney Halloween characters, glowing lights, and enchanting spooky decor.
As guests entered the hotel lobby, they found it magically transformed into the Hollywood Tower Hotel’s Tip Top Club, adorned with festive banners, lost luggage, ghostly entertainment, and delightfully eerie treats. A pianist serenaded the crowd, enhancing the atmosphere. Mysterious ghostly friends, including a bellhop, and a Hollywood star and starlet “dropped in,” while flashes of lightning echoed the fateful day at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. To top it off, the Walt Disney Archives showcased a captivating display of props from Disneyland Resort’s The Twilight Zone Tower of Terrorattraction, adding a touch of nostalgia to the haunting festivities. The iconic owl statue from the hotel loomed over the lobby, with a few Easter eggs sprinkled into the mix!
In the Black Flame Ballroom, a spellbinding celebration was underway! Inspired by Hocus Pocus, this bewitching dance hall buzzed with live music from The Salem Sound. Doug Jones, known for his iconic role as Billy Butcherson in Hocus Pocus, graced the event with kind remarks. Just when the energy was high, Sanderson Sisters performers crashed the party, taking over the dance floor and captivated everyone with their dynamic performances. They lip-synced “I Put a Spell on You” and “One Way or Another,” flawlessly emulating unforgettable scenes from the film and mesmerizing the crowd.
The Happiest Haunt room was brimming with ghoulish charm, paying ghoulish tribute to 55 years of Disney’s iconic Haunted Mansion attraction. Guests gathered in a séance-inspired room, snapping ghostly photos, savoring spectral snacks, and swapping eerie tales with a Victorian ghost. They even caught tantalizing glimpses of their futures through a mysterious ghostly fortune teller and Madame Leota’s crystal ball.
D23 members summoned their covens and boldly entered The Witches’ Road Lounge, inspired by the hit Marvel Television’s series Agatha All Along. DJ Colette spun enchanting tracks that infused the atmosphere with magic and mystery while guests mingled and immersed themselves in the experience. With vibrant posters featuring the series’ characters, a photo op, and witchy decor throughout, it truly felt like a journey down the Witches’ Road.
