The Walt Disney Archives and D23: The Official Disney Fan Club rolled out the orange carpet for D23 Members at a spellbinding Halloween Scream event at AMC in Disney Springs. Attendees were delighted with a scrumptious, event-exclusive Halloween cookie from Gideon’s Bakehouse™, perfect for guests to sink their fangs into! Each bite was a festive treat, not a trick in sight, which added an extra layer of sweetness to the event. Guests had the perfect pairing opportunity with a complimentary beverage voucher from AMC Theatres. This set the stage for a spook-tacular evening, getting everyone in the Halloween spirit right off the bat!
In honor of The Walt Disney Company’s 101st anniversary on October 16, our hosts Steven Vagnini and Kevin Kern from the Walt Disney Archives sported their best costumes of Horace and Jasper from One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Joining them in his best Pongo look, Justin Arthur from D23 kicked off a fa-boo-lous presentation, unveiling rare insights and footage from classic Disney Halloween shorts, weird and wild sights from Disney history, and so much more! The skele-fun continued as beloved Disney Halloween shorts captivated the audience, casting a delightful spell over everyone. Highlights included Lonesome Ghosts, enchanting glimpses of the Disneyland Halloween celebrations, tributes to creepy classics, plus everything Disney Halloween in between. To cap off the witchin’ good evening, screenings of the short film Frankenweenie (1984), celebrating its 40th anniversary, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, celebrating its 75th anniversary, brought the night to a perfect close.
D23 Members not only left the theater with fond memories of the night, but with a limited-edition Ichabod Crane pin! It was truly the perfect way to wrap up the night.
We loved sharing a fright with you and admiring your boo-tiful costumes! Take a gander if you dare and see what made this night so terror-ific!
