Tatum, Donn B.

Tatum, Donn B. (1913-1993) He came to Walt Disney Productions as production business manager in 1956 and was later executive vice president of Disneyland, Inc. After 1960, he returned to the Studio where he was vice president of television sales and vice president of administration. He served as president of Walt Disney Productions from 1968 to 1971 and succeeded Roy O. Disney as chairman of the board and chief executive officer, serving from 1971 to 1980. He became chairman of the executive committee from 1980 to 1983. He was a member of the board of directors beginning in 1964, until his resignation in 1992, at which time he was named director emeritus. He was well known by stockholders for his adeptness in handling the corporate annual meetings. With Card Walker, he ably led the company after Roy O. Disney’s death. He was posthumously named a Disney Legend the same year.
