D23 Members Experience Adventures Aplenty at 15th Anniversary Screening of Up

By the D23 Team

Adventure is out there! On Saturday, May 18, D23 Members explored the wilderness at the 15th Anniversary Outdoor Screening of Disney and Pixar’s Up at the Los Angeles County Arboretum. In partnership with Street Food Cinema, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club presented the first of our four summer screenings by showcasing this beloved animated film.

D23 Members were granted early access to the Los Angeles County Arboretum and received a commemorative postcard from Paradise Falls and patch. There were plenty of food trucks and a photo-op with Carl’s balloon cart at the offering as well.

One of the highlights of the event was a surprise marriage proposal at Carl’s balloon cart! Cheering and clapping could be heard during the proposal and the newly engaged couple have this special moment to add to their own Adventure Book.

To get everyone ready for the main event, a wildlife specialist treated guests to a special presentation about the peacocks that are a hallmark of the Los Angeles County Arboretum. And of course, we had to take a “Tribe 23” group photo with all our fellow Wilderness Explorers.

After the sun set, D23 members watched the movie with their family, friends, and a muster of peacocks roaming on the Arboretum grounds. It was a wonderful evening filled with fun adventure and more! Thanks to our friends at Street Food Cinema, along with our incredible D23 Members for an evening that we’ll keep in our Adventure Books forever!

Don’t miss our other outdoor screening collaborations with Street Food Cinema this Summer- including upcoming  showings of Mary Poppins, and The Incredibles!
