Stalling, Carl (1891-1972) Musician/composer; Walt Disney knew him in Kansas City in the 1920s when he was a theater organist. When Disney decided to add a sound track to Steamboat Willie, he turned to Stalling. Stalling came out to the Disney Studio beginning in 1928, and remained for a little over a year before beginning a long career in the animation department at Warner Bros. It was Stalling who gave Walt the idea for the Silly Symphony series.
