Storyboards

Storyboards Disney storyman Webb Smith is credited with coming up with the idea of storyboards in the early 1930s.  These 4×8-foot boards had story sketches pinned up on them in order, and the Disney artists found it much easier to visualize a story this way than to read a script. Since the 1930s, storyboards as invented at the Disney Studio have come into general usage throughout the motion-picture industry, especially for filmmakers planning commercials and action sequences of live-action films.
