Kingswell Avenue Site of the first Disney Studio in Hollywood. When Walt received a contract to produce a series of Alice Comedies, he was living with his Uncle Robert on Kingswell, near Commonwealth, in Hollywood. A couple of blocks down the same street, he found a real estate firm at 4651 Kingswell that was not using the back half of their office, so he made arrangements to rent it and moved in during October 1923. Soon, however, after a little money had come in, he was able to rent the next-door store at 4649 Kingswell, and the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio had its own first real location. The Disneys moved to a new studio on Hyperion Avenue in 1926.
