Beauty and the Beast—Live on Stage Musical show in Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios); premiered in the Theater of the Stars November 22, 1991, succeeding Hollywood’s Pretty Woman. The show moved from Hollywood Boulevard to a new Theater of the Stars venue on Sunset Boulevard June 15, 1994. The story of the film is presented onstage by Disney Cast Members using elaborate costumes and sets. The popularity of the show helped present an impetus for the creation of a Beauty and the Beast stage show for Broadway. Also ran in Videopolis in Disneyland April 11, 1992–April 30, 1995, and in Disneyland Paris December 31, 1992–January 1, 1997.
