Disney Channel’s Descendants: The Royal Wedding invites viewers to Auradon’s biggest social soiree: Mal and King Ben’s wedding! Happily-ever-after continues for the power couple as they prepare to say “I do” at a magical celebration with friends and family. But Mal’s father, Hades, threatens to ruin the big day: “You didn’t think this was over, did you?”

The animated special will feature a brand-new song, and the original Descendants cast—Dove Cameron (Mal), Sofia Carson (Evie), Booboo Stewart (Jay), Mitchell Hope (King Ben), Sarah Jeffery (Audrey), Melanie Paxson (Fairy Godmother), China Anne McClain (Uma), Jedidiah Goodacre (Chad), Anna Cathcart (Dizzy), Dan Payne (Beast), Bobby Moynihan (Dude the Dog), and Cheyenne Jackson (Hades)—will be reprising their roles. The absence of the character Carlos, played by the late Cameron Boyce, will be acknowledged in the storyline, and Boyce’s memory will be honored during the telecast.
Descendants: The Royal Wedding, written by Sara Parriott & Josann McGibbon and Ricky Roxburgh, is based on the Descendants movies by Parriott & McGibbon. The animated special is directed by Salvador Simó and is produced by Final Frontier Entertainment.
Descendants: The Royal Wedding will premiere Friday, August 13, on Disney Channel, immediately after the 8 p.m. telecast of the all-new Disney Channel Original Movie SPIN.
