Darwell, Jane (1880-1967) Actress; she was 84 years old when she appeared as the Bird Woman in Mary Poppins. She had won an Oscar over two decades earlier for Best Supporting Actress in The Grapes of Wrath. She was living at the Motion Picture Country Home and Walt persuaded her to come out of retirement to play the role.
