King Stefan’s Banquet Hall Restaurant upstairs in Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World; opened on October 1, 1971. Disney designers have not been able to explain why Cinderella Castle holds a King Stefan’s Banquet Hall, since King Stefan is one of the kings in Sleeping Beauty. Controversy aside, the restaurant is one of the park’s most charming. Originally, there were 13th century costumes of brown and orange tights and tunics for the young men, and medieval headdresses and gowns with overskirts for the young ladies. When the park first opened, diners were frequently serenaded by madrigal singers. Renamed Cinderella’s Royal Table, beginning April 28, 1997.
