Q: Walt Disney had his first success with cartoon films through the Laugh-O-gram Film Company in Kansas City. Though this event was a catalyst to his move to California and developing the Walt Disney brand, I wonder what ever became of the Laugh-O-gram business. Did it continue after Walt’s departure, or was it folded in his pursuit of bigger and better things?
Brad, Indianapolis, Indiana
A: After Walt Disney left Kansas City for Hollywood, the Laugh-O-gram company filed for bankruptcy and went out of business. Walt Disney was not personally involved in the bankruptcy case.
