Vista-United Telecommunications

Vista-United Telecommunications Partnership between Disney and United Telephone System (originally known as Vista-Florida Telephone System when created in 1971) to handle the telephone needs of the Walt Disney World Resort, but after industry deregulation in 1981 it began selling systems to customers around the country, including Disneyland and the Walt Disney Studio. Vista-United was the first phone company to use fiber-optic cable commercially, installed the first computer-controlled telephone operating center, began the first 911 emergency telephone system in Florida, and in 1986 became the first fully digital phone company.
