Mike Fink Keel Boats Frontierland attraction in Disneyland; opened on December 25, 1955. Based on the television episode, Davy Crockett’s Keel Boat Race. The boats are the Gullywhumper, named for Mike Fink’s boat, and the Bertha Mae, named for Davy’s boat. Fink was the legendary King of the River to go along with his opponent’s title of King of the Wild Frontier. The Keel Boats were closed in 1994 but reopened on March 30, 1996.
