An 11-year-old girl happens upon her favorite author, Mark Twain, on board the SS Minnetonka, sailing from England to America, and they strike up a friendship that will endure until the last days of Twain’s life. Directed by Daniel Petrie. Stars Jason Robards (Mark Twain), Amy Stewart (Dorothy Quick), Talia Shire. The show won two Emmy Awards for Best Children’s Program and Best Makeup in 1992.
