Kelly, Walt

Kelly, Walt (1913-1973) He started at Disney in 1936 and remained until 1941. He specialized in animation of Mickey Mouse, notably on The Nifty Nineties. He started as a story man, did some animation on the Pastoral sequence of Fantasia, working usually with Ward Kimball. He animated on The Reluctant Dragon and Dumbo, then left to go into comic book work on his own, where he created the character of Pogo.
