Infoseek Corp. On November 18, 1998, Disney announced the completion of the acquisition of approximately 43 percent of the outstanding common stock of Infoseek Corp. Combining with a previous Disney acquisition of Starwave Corp., the new Internet entity developed, launched, and promoted a new portal service named GO Network (www.go.com). On November 17, 1999, stockholders approved the acquisition of the remainder of Infoseek, which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
