Hyperion Theater Two thousand-seat theater in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot at Disney California Adventure. Inspired by the great movie palaces of the past, the theater features the latest in sound, lighting, and staging technology. The theater opened with the park on February 8, 2001, with its first show being a Broadway-style compilation of Disney songs entitled Steps in Time. This show was followed on November 22, 2001, by The Power of Blast! and on December 9, 2002, by Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular.
