Horsemasters, The (television) Two-part television show; aired on October 1 and 8, 1961. Directed by William Fairchild. The two episodes were titled Follow Your Heart and Tally Ho. American students are having a difficult time at a prestigious English riding school. Dinah Wilcox is overly cautious because of memories of an accident, but Danny Grant gives her confidence. The strict, but admired, instructor fears she must sell her favorite horse because of school tradition, but the students end up taking up a collection to buy it back for her. Stars Annette Funicello, Tommy Kirk, Janet Munro, Donald Pleasence, Tony Britton, John Fraser, Jean Marsh, Millicent Martin. The Sherman brothers, Robert and Richard, wrote “The Strummin’ Song,” their first song for a Disney film, for this show.
