Dixie Landings Resort Hotel at Walt Disney World; opened on February 2, 1992. A moderate-priced hotel, themed after the Old South, it has 2,048 rooms. The registration desk, restaurants, and souvenir shop are in Colonel’s Cotton Mill, a building that resembles a steamship. The swimming pool is located on Ol’ Man Island among the guest room buildings. One can dine at Boatwright’s Dining Hall or in a food court, or buy souvenirs at Fulton’s General Store. It was combined with the Port Orleans Resort on April 1, 2001, under the Port Orleans name as the Riverside area.
